This ASQA approved nationally recognised course involves the skills and knowledge required to prepare for the transport of dangerous goods as part of work activities undertaken within the transport and logistics industry.
This is undertaken in accordance with relevant state/territory regulations for transporting dangerous goods, including the current Australian Dangerous Goods (ADG) Code. Nominal duration of this course, including open book assessment, is 8 hours (one day).
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit. Open book assessments and activities are required to determine competence. Written, verbal and observational methods can be used to achieve correct answers and overall competence. Full instructions are provided to students on the assessment. A Nationally Recognised "Statement of Attainment" is issued to successful participants.
Note: No RPL is available through Chemtrain Services for this short course. If you do seek RPL, we will not be able to enrol you and you should contact another provider who may be able to assist. Advice on this decision was clarified from ASQA.
These non-nationally recognised courses can be tailor made to suit all persons required to work with dangerous goods/hazardous chemicals within their workplaces that may or may not be transport related. Ideal for persons who supervise or handle, store, pack, load, consign, receive, transport, or work with Hazardous Chemicals that need basic awareness and training. No assessment is required. A "Certificate of Attendance" is issued to all attendees. The recommended nominal duration of awareness courses is 5-6 hours minimum. Non ASQA Recognised.
