Dangerous Goods Driver's License Course - "TLILIC0001 Licence to transport dangerous goods by road"

Nationally Recognised

A person must have a dangerous goods driver licence if transporting:

  • dangerous goods that are in a receptacle with a capacity of more than 500 litres, or
  • more than 500kg of dangerous goods in a single receptacle, or
  • in the case of intermediate bulk containers (IBC’s), where the total capacity of all IBC’s is more than 3,000L or where any IBC is filled or emptied while on a vehicle.

Dangerous Goods Awareness Courses

These courses may be either:

  • Nationally Recognised, such as the "TLID0018 Prepare for transport of dangerous goods" course, which involves the skills and knowledge required to prepare for the transport of dangerous goods as part of work activities undertaken within the transport and logistics industry. This is undertaken in accordance with relevant state/territory regulations for transporting dangerous goods, including the current Australian Dangerous Goods (ADG) Code. Nominal duration of this course, including open book assessment, is 8 hours (one day) or:
  • Non-Nationally Accredited Dangerous Goods General Awareness courses for Transport or Storage.

Safe Load Program (SLP)

For Fuel Tanker Drivers entering participating terminals

The material covered in this course is intended to ensure safety of personnel and the protection of participating SLP terminals and depots.

This mandatory industry course is recognised by and required for entry into all participating major fuel terminals in all states and territories and is primarily aimed at petroleum transport industry drivers and contractors. Please contact us for course costs, locations and dates.

The initial course must be conducted either face to face with a trainer such as Chemtrain Services (One-on-one online via TEAMs meeting is allowed). Thereafter it must be renewed "on-line" every two years.
