Complaints & Appeals Policy/Procedures

Client Complaints

In the first instance, the RTO, via the Trainer(s) and or the CEO, will attempt to resolve all complaints that relate to any aspect of the RTO's operation informally through discussions or via conciliation. Such matters may include, but are not limited to, quality of training, the actions of a trainer, the suitability of training rooms, training aids and equipment, financial management etc.

All complaints will be handled in an open, honest and transparent manner maintaining confidentiality.

Procedures

All employees and clients are advised of the existence of the RTO complaints Policy and Procedures available on the website or in hard copy on request. The complaints form is also available on request.

The RTO will attempt to have the complaint resolved within 14 days of being received.  Should the complaint not be able to be resolved by a staff member or the CEO within 14 days, the complainant can contact an appropriate external independent agent for further escalation or resolution.  A complainant can contact the National Training Complaints Hotline.  This hotline may then refer the complainant to ASQA, Department of Fair Trading or the EPA as a third party.

Should a complaint relate to an assessment result, the staff member/trainer responsible for that assessment will consult with another trainer/assessor to review the initial assessment and notify the trainee (client) of that outcome.

Appeals

The client may choose to dispute the outcome of an assessment review.  Such disputes must be in writing and be submitted to the CEO of the Registered Training Organisation (RTO). If the appeal is in relation to an assessment outcome or procedure, the RTO will arrange wherever possible for a re-assessment to be conducted by an independent third-party assessor.

If the appeal is in relation to the outcome of a complaint not related to an assessment, the CEO will arrange for the appeal to be heard by an independent party.  The CEO or the appellant may seek the advice of ASQA, Fair Trading, EPA or the like to have the complaint dealt with independently.

The outcomes of all complaints/appeals resolutions will be notified in writing to the appellant.  Such information is to be documented and kept in the RTO Complaints/Appeals register.

The licence course TLILIC0001 does not automatically guarantee your approval by the State/Territory Regulator for issue of a Dangerous Good Drivers Licence. Obtaining this unit of competency is a necessary requirement for obtaining a Dangerous Goods Drivers Licence. However, it is only one of several criteria for obtaining the licence. Additional requirements must be satisfied to meet the licensing requirements. Depending on the jurisdiction (State or Teritory) these may include: age limits; relevant and valid driver licence; suitable driver history report; satisfactory medical report; criminal history check etc. On successful completion, Chemtrain Services will issue each applicant with a statement of attainment, which is Nationally Recognised. Chemtrain Services can assist with this application if required.

Chemtrain Services will utilise, as may be required, a mix of adult learning/training and assessment methods such as theoretical, verbal, scenario, actual or realistic simulated workplace- based experiences to assist participants to achieve overall competence in all elements.
